As part of our CSR program and commitment to sustainability program, the BECIS – Energy as a Service Indonesia team gathered to carry out the 1000 Tree Planting Program in Mount Merapi National Forest, Kepuharjo, Yogyakarta.

The tree planting program focuses on planting local tree species with direct recommendations from the Mount Merapi National Park. The inclusion of native trees is important for ecological restoration, as these species are well suited to the soil, climate, and local wildlife of the region.

“Tree planting is essential, especially in areas that are still open and prone to erosion, playing an important role in restoring green cover and reducing the risk of landslides. In areas like Yogyakarta, especially around Mount Merapi, where volcanic soil and steep terrain make landslides a frequent concern, this effort is invaluable to the environment and society.”, quoted from Mr. Heri Suprapto, the Head of Kepuharjo Village, during his opening speech for the event.

Environmental sustainability is essential for the continuity of life. By planting shade trees that can reduce CO2 levels in the air, BECIS Indonesia aims to improve air and life quality while contributing to reducing the global warming effects.

A heartfelt thank you to our BECIS Indonesia team who contributed to the 1000 Tree Planting Program.

Let’s continue to create a better life by reducing CO2 levels in the air through planting shade tree!
