Unicharm – Thailand – Solar.

Unicharm switches to solar, moving closer to achieving its Kyo-si Life Vision 2030 goal.

Need

According to “Kyo-sei Life Vision 2030”, Unicharm Group set a goal of using 100% renewable electricity for all of their business operations by 2030.

Challenges

The Japanese manufacturer signed up to significantly reduce GHG emissions in their operations, which would require substantial investments in and access to renewable energy.

Solution

BECIS provided and is expanding an onsite solar solution for Unicharm at its Chachoengsao plant, which will be the largest rooftop solar project within the industrial estate. With the solution, Unicharm (Thailand) will be able to achieve a greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction of 73,500 tCO2e by 2027 (including expansion phase).
