DANONE – Indonesia – Solar.

Helping Danone achieve its “ONE PLANET ONE HEALTH” vision of 50% reduced carbon emission by 2030.

Need

To achieve their emissions reduction targets which are based on Science-Based Targets initiative, Danone first priority is to reduce carbon emissions on the three categories defined in the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard. Utilizing green energy allows them to reduce their Scope 2 emissions to get them closer to their target.

Challenges

As the solar PV rooftop system is installed on the roof of their existing factory, Danone needs to find a partner that comply with international standard and provide world class safety and quality.

Solution

In June 2022 BECIS has successfully commission a solar PV rooftop system at one of Danone factory in Bali and currently constructing two others in different location. The project was installed by local EPC and supervised closely by BECIS as well as a third-party independent engineering company to ensure compliance with local regulation and international standard.

BECIS also assist Danone in procuring the rest of their emissions reduction requirements by providing REC from other BECIS projects.

When all three projects commissioned, it is expected to reduce emissions by around 3,000 tCo2e per year
