BECIS – Commercial Industrial Solutions is proud to announce its association with Bayer India. We have recently commissioned ground-mounted solar projects with a cumulative capacity of 1,121 kWp at two of its facilities near Hyderabad, India. One of the solar projects with a capacity of 613 kWp was recently inaugurated by Mr. Arun Mittal (Head – Row Crop Production, Asia-Pacific) and Ms. Catherine Bulut (Talent Lead, CS Product Supply & Enabling APAC) at Bayer India. Mr. Nethala Suvarna Raju, Plant Lead – India, Bayer, was also present during the event. The project will generate approximately 0.9 million units of power annually, which is approximately 40% of the factory’s total annual power consumption. These solar projects have been installed under the build-own-operate-transfer model. BECIS – Commercial Industrial Solutions has invested in the entire project and will take care of operations and maintenance (O&M) for the duration of the power purchase agreement (PPA) tenure. These facilities are classified as ‘Seasonal Industry’ and have high electricity consumption during the first half of the year. To address the seasonal variation, the ‘net metering’ scheme is being utilized, and excess power generated will be fed to the grid during the off-peak season.
Bayer has set science-based targets for decarbonization and a net-zero target, including the supply chain, by 2050. It is also aiming to achieve an absolute reduction of 42 percent in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 2030. These projects are a critical step in achieving these sustainability targets. The cumulative capacity of 1,121 kWp will help reduce more than 1,200 tonnes of carbon emissions annually. We take this opportunity to thank the Bayer team for their support during the execution of the project. We look forward to supporting Bayer’s sustainability journey through our other solutions, such as bioenergy-based steam and power, cooling, heat pumps, waste heat recovery, etc. Check out more customer cases at : https://be-cis.com/case-studies/
