On March 22, 2022, at the Linde Philippines Head Office, BECIS and Linde Philippines Inc. signed a 20-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for a 3 MWp grid-tied onsite solar project for the Air Separation Unit (ASU) Plant at Apalit, Pampanga, Philippines. What is now an idle land will be converted into a solar power plant facility with 5,688 Tier 1 solar panels which would supply a total of 85,557 Megawatt Hours in the span of the 20-year PPA term. This PPA partnership between Linde Philippines and BECIS strongly adheres to the sustainability commitment of Linde to minimize their own environmental resource Intensity, including preference for renewable energy sources. The project will offset a total of 52,444 tons equivalent of carbon dioxide emissions which is equivalent to the efforts of planting 865,326 tree seedlings.   During the PPA signing ceremony, key representatives from BECIS Philippines and LINDE Philippines shared the following messages:   Mr. Raymond Santayana, Linde Philippines Managing Director: “Congratulations to Linde Philippines and BECIS teams! I thank our management and regional team for their endorsement and strong support of this opportunity. This is a first such project for Linde in ASEAN and a first but important step towards meeting our climate change ambitions. I am very much looking forward to this project’s successful implementation and wish the project team all the best.”   Mr. Dennis Chan Ibarra, BECIS Philippines General Manager: “On behalf of BECIS team in the Philippines and around the world, I’d like to sincerely thank Linde for the trust and opportunity to be of service. BECIS aims to support Linde’s goals in improved competitiveness, sustainability, and distributed energy solutions…Please rest assured that everyone here and throughout the BECIS organization will be committed to doing their work properly, safely and on time. We honestly believe in Linde’s core values about safety, integrity, community development, inclusion and accountability…”.
